Humpback Whale Swimming Ha'apai Tonga

In 2019 & 2020 we very special experiences for you! Join us to snorkel and swim with humpback whales! Every summer mother humpback whales travel from the feeding grounds in Antarctica to the warm waters of Tonga to give birth to their babies. The King of Tonga declared the ocean surrounding this island chain in the South Pacific a whale sanctuary after these amazing animals were almost hunted to extinction. With a maximum of 8 people on a boat, we spend hours on the ocean watching them breach, tail slap, spy hop, and then we slip into the water to swim with the humpback whales. When we depart from shore, you never know what to expect as every day is a gift from the ocean. These are very special trips and we have full brochures upon request. Plane fare and travel to and from the destination not included in the price. Because these are very unique experiences, your host Ocean Annie, personally knows all the people joining. If you feel the whales calling you, let’s get you in the water with these gentle giants!

We will be traveling with kids, teens, and families to Ha’apai, Tonga on a 7 day whale swimming excursion or option of 5 whale swim days and 2 days of diving. Package price is $3500 not including airfare and hotels to and from destination. There are only 4 spots available on this once in a lifetime experience to swim with humpback whales. If you would like to join this adventure, please contact us today.

Port of Edmonds Clean-Up June 1 2019

The Port of Edmonds Dive Team Clean-Up event scheduled on June 1st from 8:00-3:00 PM raises awareness about ocean pollution and what we can do about it. We will be diving between the hours of 9:00-1:45 and need to have two shifts for the participants. Please contact us ASAP if you would like to participate as a diver or as shore support!

Our instructor team will be at the Port by 8:00 and we need volunteers to help set up. We will need to have a schedule for diving for our kids/teens without parents. We are running this as a certification course for all in-water kids/teens. We will meet the week before the event for our Project Aware Specialty Course so contact us for more information if you will be diving.

Participating divers need to have DAN Insurance. You can please follow this link and register if you don’t have. You will need to show this and your Certification Card in order to dive. These are amazing events whether you are diving or not, as you feel good taking action for our ocean while raising awareness about ocean pollution.

Please contact us if you have any questions. We need parents and others for shore support!

Mark Twain Elementary Earth Day Celebration

Journey around the world underwater with a dynamic multi-media presentation combining stories from around the world. Annie Crawley, aka Ocean Annie, shares stories from diving with sharks & mantas to humpback whales and coral reefs. You will experience diving in the Salish Sea and blackwater diving. Once she hooks you with the amazing life below the sea, she introduces real world topics impacting our world ocean including ocean pollution, sustainability and climate change. You will be wowed right into action to become the voice of our ocean.

“Many people look at ‘garbage’ and ‘trash’ as dirty words. Not me. These subjects need to be discussed as the average person creates one ton of trash a year. How many times in the past week have you thought or said, ‘Oh, just throw it away?’ Well what if you realized, there is no away, everything goes somewhere, that’s the first step in understanding this huge problem.” Annie Crawley explains. Incorporating science, basic oceanography, geography, marine biology, journalism and storytelling, she takes you on an adventure of discovery.

Scientists discovered and have been studying an area of the Ocean 1,000 miles off shore where waste accumulates in the North Pacific Gyre, more commonly known as “The Great Pacific Garbage Patch.” Annie Crawley spent 22 days at sea documenting this area for Project Kaisei aboard the SEAPLEX cruise with Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Annie takes you on a journey so you too can understand the potential effects marine debris has on the largest ecosystem in the world, and ultimately us. Be Inspired as you learn what is happening in Washington State to Ban Plastic Bags statewide as well as what other corporations are doing because of kids. Work with Annie to help change the world.

"Our environment is a reflection of who we are as a society.  In order for there to be a true shift in how we treat our environment, we need to change the way we view our world." - Annie Crawley
