Eight-Armed Animals: Octopuses and squids
Octopuses, squid, cuttlefish, and chambered nautiluses are examples of a group of mollusks called cephalopods. There are many kinds of cephalopods and most have between eight and twelve arms—which makes them look like aliens! Octopuses usually have eight arms, while squid often have eight arms and two tentacles they use for feeding. Cephalopods have the ability to camouflage and communicate by way of changing the color and texture of their skin. Cephalopods live their entire lives in the ocean and are invertebrates.
